This project was meant to explore the power of metaphor and iconography in design. I was assigned to design one book in a series based on famous and notable couples. My design was focused on Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love. The two musicians were notable for their tumultuous relationship. Cobain's real life guitar was referenced when drawing the work, and kept in pristine condition. Being that Courtney was known for her chaotic and brash antics, both her personality and career are represented in the explosiveness of her destroyed guitar.
